Step 6: Learn God's Truth
In our busy lives, God usually gets shoved aside. This is why we need to be intentional about keeping Him first and continually learning about Him to grow in our faith. There are many different kinds of devotions, but these 3 kinds can help you connect with Him on a daily basis.
5 Minute Devotion:
Best way to get started with the Bible and âpractice the presence of Godâ all day long. If you struggle to have regular quiet times, this is the easiest âon rampâ.
First part of your day, set your alarm 5 min earlier
1 min:
âBe still and know that I am Godâ, be silent and still,
then pray, âPlease speak to me Godâ

Read the passage until 3 minutes are up then stop.

Pick 1 verse or aspect you will focus on throughout the day, pray over that verse, think about it while driving, transition moments, as you go to bed.

Bible Reading:
The point is to get an overview of the Bible so you will understand the big picture and themes. This gives you a framework to be able to better understand everything you read and have âhooksâ to place what you study in the future. Donât worry about understanding everything you read, this is to get a â35,000 feetâ perspective of the Bible.

Bible Study:
After you have gotten in the practice of devotions and have read through the Bible at least once, you can go in more depth. This takes about 30 min a day to do. You will need a paper or electronic journal to do this and usually write 1 page per day.
1. Pick one book of the Bible and work your way through the book each day
2. Read the passage (usually 1 paragraph to 1 chapter)
3. Write down as many observations as you can find (what is the Bible saying?)
4. Write down as many interpretations as you can think of (what do these
observations say about God?)
observations say about God?)
5. Prayerfully consider 1-2 applications of things you will do differently as a result of
this passage and write it down and work on it through the day

6. Prayer: Write down a prayer to God
